High-End – from bow to propeller:
Torqeedo and Frauscher cooperate

Torqeedo GmbH will be equipping the electric boats from Austrian company Frauscher Bootswerft GmbH with its advanced Deep Blue propulsion system.

With a clean design, high-quality materials, excellent performance characteristics, and a well-engineered and safety-oriented drive concept – a top-class electrically propelled boat always fascinates through the sum total of its parts.

Torqeedo will be supplying motors for the electric boats and yachts from leading Austrian boatbuilder Frauscher with immediate effect. The Deep Blue inboard motor concept provides input power of up to 65 kW – as used in the brand-new Frauscher 740 Mirage Air that premièred in July 2015.

Boat builder Frauscher, which has cooperated closely with Torqeedo in the field of drive and battery technology since 2005, was impressed with the package put together by Torqeedo. The Deep Blue motor concept developed by Torqeedo demonstrates the high-safety standards as found in the automotive industry, making it the world’s only high-voltage marine drive system in series production. Only high-performance lithium batteries, which have been modified for marine applications, are employed. Torqeedo gives a nine-year guarantee on the capacity of the lithium batteries. All the components of the Deep Blue system are waterproofed to IP67. State-of-the art monitoring technology with pilot lines and insulation monitors safeguard the high-voltage system against the risk of short circuits.

Thanks to its optimum torque characteristics and input power of up to 65 kW, the Deep Blue drive delivers the same propulsive power as an 80 HP petrol outboard. Unlike a boat with a diesel or petrol motor, a boat with a Deep Blue drive has no emissions and is therefore approved for use on sensitive waters.
The Deep Blue motor concept is available for Frauscher\\\'s boat models 650 Alassio, 680 Lido, 740 Mirage, 740 Mirage Air and 750 St. Tropez.
